Hi, just wanted to introduce myself. I am this weekend picking up my first Passat, a W8 Estate auto. I really do need some advice though, as I want to buy a warranty. Does anybody have an experiance of a good one? Cheers for now, will post some photos once its home!

Hey mate,

Good luck. I bought an extended warranty from click4warranty. Gold package that covers engine and transmission and all the other bits. £300 per year, but allows £5000 per claim and unlimited claims. Also allows up to 150k mileage.

Did you go for a warranty Benz? I have just bought a w8 and am thinking of going for one. It seems to be that the W8's go well, but when they need work, it's expensive!

Hi, I got a waranty from Warranty Direct. They only cover upto 130K though and I am on 105K. They also for the age and miles only cover 50% of parts, thats fine as its the labour that costs on these, with all that engine in an out. I am paying £50 a month though! Just a point of interest though. Just changed all discs and pads at huge expense and have had them all changed again under warranty(VW) as warrped after 300 miles. Never heard that before and not even pushing it! (cant afford the fuel) Good luck with the car. I only paid 2K for mine but spent £1700 getting it up to speed. Hope you enjoy your car. Regards.
