VAG COM should do the trick for you, though I've only reset it on older Passats.

You might want to follow the service-plan though - especially if you're planning on an extended warranty.

Hello,

I use this small handy device: V-Checker VAG. Not as fancy as VAG COM but it's quite cheap and it doesn't require laptop - just plug it in and that's it: you can read instantly trouble codes & reset them and also you can reset those service prompts.

++ben

Ps. My dealer wants currently 60 EUR for reading the trouble codes , V-Checker cost 99 EUR here in my place...

That looks neat, I'll check and see if it's available in the UK

Hmm, I think you'll find it under

Applications -> SRI Reset, and then perform a 'Simple Service Reset'

I'm not completely sure though - can check when I get home

I just tried this, after reading it on another forum :

It seems a combination of what different people are saying actually works.
Use your Right hand to hold in the trip odometer reset button, with the ignition off.
Next, turn the ignition on while still holding in the trip reset button
When ignition lights are on, and reset button is till being held, turn the clock adjust knob clockwise.
Hooray the service is reset!

I was sceptical, but gave it a whirl, and it worked for me too.
If nobody's perfect, Im Nobody.
