I'm not sure if anyone else is having this problem, but every time I go to update my profile (updating my signature) it gives me this message:

Server Error in Forum Application
An error has occurred while writing to the database.
Please contact the forum administrator.

Support Error Code:- err_SQLServer_update_USR
File Name:- register.asp

Error details:-
Microsoft OLE DB Provider for SQL Server
The UPDATE statement conflicted with the CHECK constraint "SSMA_CC$tblAuthor$Gender$disallow_zero_length". The conflict occurred in database "w8forum", table "w8user.tblAuthor", column 'Gender'.

Can you help me out, Frank?

Hmm, thats strange.

I just tried updating my profile with no problems.

What does the field Gender say in your profile? Private, male or female?

If it says private, try selecting Private again, or select Male.

Let me know how it goes.

Hmm, never noticed that before. I guess when the error message spews something about "gender" I suppose it'd only make sense to check that section.

Thank you sir!

Jeremy, I think I can safely speak for the rest of the forum members when I say that even though you're having some gender issues, we still think you're OK.

On that note, I will lock this thread. I knew I should have done it yesterday...

So I had to reopen this thread because I received this error again.

Server Error in Forum Application
An error has occurred while writing to the database.
Please contact the forum administrator.

Support Error Code:- err_SQLServer_update_USR
File Name:- register.asp

Error details:-
Microsoft OLE DB Provider for SQL Server
The UPDATE statement conflicted with the CHECK constraint "SSMA_CC$tblAuthor$Gender$disallow_zero_length". The conflict occurred in database "w8forum_dk_db", table "dbo.tblAuthor", column 'Gender'.

A forum member wanted to update their location but wasn't allowed due to receiving that error. I noticed they had their gender set to 'private' so I went and selected "male" and changed their location, and viola, it worked. But I went to change it back to private and received the error.

I'm an IT bod and the check contraint error is stating that the gender field cannot be 'null' or blank. It seems that there is a bug/feature that when you set the gender to private, it's putting null in the gender field and the constaint throws and error. You guys have already figured out a work around but you could log the fault with the web wiz forums supplier.
