after i got my thermostat replaced a couple of weeks ago the radiator fans were still turning on at odd times. then finally the CEL lit up and i thought okay, a faulty thermostat was installed. nope!
had the code read yesterday at autozone and it said, "engine coolant temperature sensor 2 circuit high." i searched around a bit and found very little on this. my bentley manual shows two CTSs, one on the top of the radiator and another down the line- where, i'm not sure. so i made an appt at the dealer for tomorrow.
i think i'm the first W8er here with this

that is a nice writeup with great pics!
took my car in yesterday and picked it up in the afternoon. mech changed out the rear coolant temp sensor along with the coolant itself. seems fine now, but atlanta traffic will be the real test!
according to my svc advisor, the warranty claims that i have used on this car have now exceeded the price i paid for it... scary

Mine did that on that first trip to the dealer - over $4700 USD, and I paid about $2400 for the warranty.
Still have almost 30k miles (or until 9/16/2011).

Q? or did you mean total warranty expenses exceeded original purchase price of the car?

grammatically, i guess i was misleading.

he said with the cam adjusters, O2 sensors, thermostat (and temp sensor), new headlights (month in the shop for that one), two batteries, parking brake cables, the CPO warranty claims have exceeded what I paid for the whole car. doesn't seem to add up, since i bought it almost three years ago for $19K. but whatever the total cost of all the warranty work was, it was a ton of money that i would have never been able to pay, that's for sure. especially with two small kids in the house...

i haven't begun my extended warranty. that one kicks in about 10K miles.

How did you get them to cover the headlights? I've been worried about this one and I didn't think anyone would cover these. Or did you have some kind of mechanical failure?

i chronicled everything here.

they considered it a safety issue while the car was still under the B2B warranty. get the euroswitch. that was the only thing that fixed the issue.
