Yup - the ECU did track it down pretty damn well :)

I'm lucky enough to have a Passat R36 as well, so if the snow comes along, I'll be in that. Problem is - the W8 is much higher off the ground on stock suspension than the R36... and the Torsen is better than the R36 (Haldex) so the W8 will always remain my preferred choice of winter vehicle.

When they did my TC, they managed to "tilt" the motor/transmission and remove the transmission without pulling the whole motor.
Whether or not that contributed to my rear oil seal leak is unknown.
At ~65k miles, just pulling it apart may have caused the leak.

*CRY* - Loads of snow and the W8 is in the garage awaiting a new Torque Converter to arrive from VW Germany :( :( :(

'Had' to steal my girlfriends Freelander... (and make her pose for photo!)




... as the R36 has ground clearance "issues"...
