just got the new t-stat delivered. I note that it doesn't have the cable connected to it, just a socket like the original (I hope?) should have.

ok, I am in the middle of this, but I can't get the electrical connectors on the fuel injectors to release and pop off.

how the hell do these come apart???

ok, I think this pix shows how to remove the electrical connectors for the fuel injectors (found on VWVortex):


the gray part of the connector is all the way at the top of the black portion when they are fully seated on the injector. it has to be pushed down and locked to remove it.

I had to order a harness that went with the thermostat
were did you get get the thermostat and how much ?

rockauto.com - the price you pay will depend on the exchange rate and shipping to Oz.

the t-stat I bought did not have cable on it, so the stock wiring is what I am using. hopefully going to try to tackle this one again in about an hour, as I just got home - have to let the car cool off first.
