HI all......

I have searched high and low and have still had no love.....

Has anybody tried using a mac laptop and VAG-COM???? That included if you have a virtual PC thing and can run windows on your mac.....

Basically from what I can find, the VAG-COM and software are not supported for mac or mac using virtual PC.....

Before I go spending $500 odd on the VAG-COM, I would like to know if I need to also go and find a second hand windows based(ghey) laptop......

Cheers

Before you go slamming windows, consider the situation you find yourself in right now. Proprietary hardware and a self contained software environment only protects the lazy and the ignorant.

If you don't want a "ghey" windows box maybe try a live linux distro and wine.

Careful pal. Them's fightin' words.

I have love for both Mac and PC. Each have their pros and cons like everything else.

FYI Jeremy, not sure if you knew this, but I believe Andy uses a Mac with Windows XP on it for his VAG-Com IIRC.

I'm not a Mac guy... but folks at TDI Club (my "other" hang out) have no issues with VCDS running with Parallels or WINE... if you know what those are... <shrug>

Search around their OBD Scanners group for more info:

I was just saying it, I wasn't sure if you knew or not. I thought you might have and it had slipped your mind. :P
