Guys,

I've been speaking to a company on the UK that do re-mapping about doing the W8. The reason I've chosen them is because they have just done a map for the R32 golf, which as we all know has very similar heads to our cars, and they have managed to get another 40bhp out of a car which had 250 to start with. They managed to do it by playing around extensively with the valve timing and have even managed to get get engine temperatures down at the same time.

I just wondered out of interest if any of you might want the same map, if proven by rolling road?

Here's a little info Linky

I've been wanting to chip the car (i'm assuming this is similar) for some time. Lowering temps sounds like a definite bonus, I'd be concerned with stability. ...

Somehow I tagged an extra 0 to your 40 and was about to sh*t my pants. Anyrate keep posting!

If the price is right, sure as hell.

Could cars outside UK take part in this, thinking about the chipping would be done.

400bhp would b v nice......yes chipping and mapping are similar. Mapping normally retains the roiginal chip in the car whereas chipping replaces the factory chip with the modified one.

I'll keep you updated as to any more news

I would hope that the company would be able to find a way of doing it if there's enough demand
