Hi all,

I'm going to transition from S.W. Michigan to N.W. Wisconsin.
My Family and the W8 will be located 40 minutes east of Minneapolis, next March.

Near Hudson, WI?
I can highly recommend Bob at Midwest Motor Werks.
He chipped my car (GIAC pump, stock, race on handheld) and locked my Tip in sports mode.
Definitely hook up with us Passat owners in MSP.

Hello Stewart,

Thank you for the info.
I think that we will settle in Somerset WI.
We are still looking around.
My 2004 W8 will need to have some work done.
I have HR Springs that need to be installed and Chip tuning is on the list also.
Thank you for the recommendation!!

See you soon,
Marc

I'm planning on H&R springs and Bilstein dampers all the way round, come th espring thaw.
Visit neuwerks.com - MSP based euro club, a few Passat people over there (B5Bar, nm+, myself)and WI people.
We are planning a Winter get away in Feb.2007, but I'm sure you can get in on the Spring one when it is planned.

Isn't there a way to manually enter sport-mode? I miss the little 'S'-button.

Whats the performance difference normal vs. sports? I assume it would be a bit annoying in the long run to always have it operate i Sports-mode???

It does hold the 1st to 2nd shift a bit long in normal day to day driving (which does feel strange).
But the W8 cries out for spirited driving.
Supposedly the Tip incorporates "adaptive logic" so it should pick a mode more suitable to your driving style.
I like the Audi "S" mode more than the Buick "granny tranny" mode myself.
I have gotten used to sports mode and the chip.
When I got the car it went to 10. Now it goes to 11!

I'll be back online in 1-2 weeks.
The relocation with the Family went very well.
My job made me work in the old place, since February.

My W8 is now located at Somerset WI!

I was wondering what happened to you...

Nice to see you checking in and glad to hear the transition went well!
