Does anyone know what is involved in retro fitting cruise control to a car that didn't have it as standard? There are a few Passat websites that suggest that this is as simple as fitting the correct stalk but prior to me trying to acquire one I just thought I would ask advice here?

Any info much apprciated.

I had mine done by AwesomeGTi in irlam manchester, cost me 115 quid fitted i think. You need to fit the stalk, wire it into the ECU, then turn on the relevant option in the ECU to activate it.

There's an excellent write up (with pics) on the ukpassats forum. here

The stalk you need depends on whether you have a multifunction steering wheel or a std 3 spoke.
