No, it must be an image hosted somewhere public. (somewhere public on the itnernet, not on a computer or in an email). You can use an online service like Photobucket, Image Shake, Flickr, or even just your Facebook. Basically, the URL needs to end in ".jpg" ".gif" ".png" or any other common image format

For example, to post this picture: http://distilleryimage4.s3.amazonaws.com/35eb46e096e211e2a46122000a9f09e2_7.jpg

I'd click "insert image" , I'll paste that code in place, and it'll insert this into the post (without spaces):
[ IMG]http://distilleryimage4.s3.amazonaws.com/35eb46e096e211e2a46122000a9f09e2_7.jpg[ /IMG]

And that will show up like this:

That's now going to work for a few reasons:

1. The link is secure httpS, so you will ony see the pic if you were logged into whatever site that came from. I guessing email.

2. You need to use an image link. Also its the icon with the little green tree on it.

I would suggest you upload the picture to www.photbucket.com Thye make it very easy to post links within online forums as they generate teh IMG link for you.

Hope that helps.

Check out my thread here: My W8 Saga

You can right click the images to see the links.

You need to right click on the picture and copy the image URL, the URL you tried to use is for the page the image is on. Like I said, the URL need to have .jpg or .gif. or .png or any common image extension at the end.
