I bought my '03 Variant new, with the Sport Package. It currently has about 61K on it, mostly on asphalt roads or well maintained concrete Interstates in the SouthEast. No potholes, broken pavement, or gaping road seams. 95% of my driving has been solo, and I always avoid speed bumps - or pass over them VERY slowly.

I'm just wondering if anyone has any sense of what the life expectancy of the sport struts would probably be. Thanks, Marco

Didn't there used to be a "bounce test" for shocks?

As I understand it, the "bounce test" is not appropriate for our struts. And, as heavy as the W8 is, your struts would probably need to be totally dead before you would notice an appreciable result.

So if you were going to replace your struts what would you buy?

I'm still inclined to go the Bilstein/ H&R route when I do need struts.
Coil overs are uber nice, but I'm not convinced that I need to spend almost twice as much for them.
