I just sent an email to the sales department at www.shox.com and asked them if they would cut us a deal if we had 10 or more people sign up for a shock/spring setup. I made my local VW/Audi car club aware of this as well.

I will keep you posted. In the meantime, your W8 will thank you if you decide to sign up.

i love the way my sport package handles. any firmer and it would lose the lux that is what "W8" is all about. lowering it would make it look too boy-racer (for me). not to bash any W8ers, everyone has their own taste. i just think mine's perfect!

Well, not everyone is blessed with having the sport package. Plus my springs and shocks are due for a change...

Might as well lock this up, apparently I'm the only one that wants to lower my car. Oh well. Everyone for themselves here.

Sorry man... I am interested in changing out the suspension (even on my Sport Pkg car), but it probably won't be feasible for me until at least next year.

My shocks only have a little less than 40,000, but are 5 years old.
When I replace them I'll do the springs too - for 240.00+/- not that bad since you are paying the labor for the shocks anyway.
I thought the W8 "sports package" only gave you the 17" Madras and the 17mm (1BE) rear sway bar? NA, anyway...

I think this is a never-ending argument. We went round and round about this on here, and I don't know how many times over at PassatWorld. Some people say it does sit lower and some say there's no difference between the two. I'm just saying F-it and going with new shocks and springs. It can't hurt with 71k miles on my stock suspension.

I'm probably just going to buy it in pieces over the next few months, and have it all done in the spring.
(springs, 1BE sway bar/ bushings, then lastly the shocks/ struts
Dedicated snow/ice tires in December - 18" with good summer performance tires in the spring as well.

SO, I'm still learning here...what is the strut part of the suspension?
