Thanks. I'll check that out. I just want to hear her run to get the motivation to finish up the work I have left to do.

Did you unplug the throttle body? The electronic throttle body does a couple things. It takes a reading from the gas pedal and sets the opening of the throttle plate. But it also has a couple sensors to check to see that the throttle plate is actually opened to the right angle. With those three codes all in the same unit, I'm wondering if it's just unplugged or there is a problem with the wiring.
As for the coolant temp sensor, it should be easy to check. If it's plugged in and the wiring doesn't look broken anywhere, then the sensor might be bad (though that's unlikely). |

Hello everyone,
I apologize for my recent lack of activity on the site but I have had a lot of personal things to deal with. But now for a plea of help ![]() I have not yet refilled the transmission as I can not get the car to run. It will start up nice and strong and then immediately cut out, it seems to be an electronic kill as opposed to not being able to stay running. Using VCDS I keep getting the error codes: 17951 - Angle Sensor 1 for Throttle Actuator (G187) P1543 - 35-00 - Signal too Small 17580 - Angle Sensor 2 for Throttle Actuator (G188) Signal too Low P1172 - 35-00 - 17987 - Throttle Actuator (J338) P1579 - 35-00 - Adaptation Not Started 17699 - Coolant Temp Sensor at Radiator Outlet (G83) P1291 - 35-00 - Signal too Large Does anyone know what may be causing these issues and how to solve them? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you all in advance. |

You don't happen to get a cloud of steam when you first start the car in the morning, do you? That's a sign of a bad head gasket for sure.

Check the plastic tee piece near the recovery bottle
Mine was leaking there, replaced it with a nice brass tee :) |

I am getting an almost fishy smell in my car. Which leads me to think I am burning antifreeze. My antifreeze was a little low so I topped it up on Monday. I am going to check the "cold" level after work today. There are no visible leaks or drips under the car. Does anyone have any ideas as to what could be causing this?
