Just my luck it'd fall apart just when I really need to find some good info about mounting an Optima red-top in place of the OEM batt.

*nudge nudge* to anyone that feels like posting a write-up on this board ;)

I considered an Optima Red Top, since I'm happy with the one in my Lexus. However, mounting it took some ingenuity. Since the Lexus mount is very easy and open, I found it an unfair comparison to the W8. So, I went with the Autozone Gold, which fit. Be warned, however, that getting the OEM battery out and getting a new one in is far more difficult than it looks. Marco

CR just had a reveiw of car batteries. IIRC a Sears battery was judged best for our type of battery. I'll try to post the results.

I think the best bet is to pull the wiper arms, and then the cowl under the windshield - or pull, pry, and crack the cowl.

I got it handled, see my post here for the details:

So far the Optima has been good to me, but I guess time will tell!

Looks like the PW database crapped the bed again.

Honestly I haven't been on PW in a LONG time, other than bumping up my thread of my recently-sold Pie Plates. I try to visit the W8 forum daily, but most of my posting takes place over at my local club, Projekt German.
